I think that the image that manifests before you when Hermaeus Mora talks to you is just a manifestation and that those tentacles dangling from the sky are attached to the real Hermaeus Mora. I think that the horror of the true being is too great to imagine, and no mere mortal, Dragonborn or not, would be able to comprehend it.
